It’s here. Keep on Dancing, the first single from the new record, is on every streamer. Bandcamp friends, the lossless and the long instrumental coda are over here — they didn’t fit on the radio cut.
We wrote this one in three nights in a half-collapsed chapel outside Lyon. Maloo tracked the lead solo in a single take while a thunderstorm killed the power twice. You can hear the second one if you wear headphones at 2:14.
Video drops Friday at midnight CET. Wear something you can ruin.
Day 14. We tracked drums to tape and the room mic picked up a wasp. Euxi named it Brigitte and refused to re-record.
I’ve been re-amping the guitars through a 1972 cab that smells like wet church. It’s the best decision we’ve made all year. The cleans sound like they’re crying.
Two more songs to track, then mixing in June. Record’s called Sermons of the Underearth. Out this autumn on Veilbreak.
Paris, you nearly broke the floor at Le Spectre. The pit during Crucified Roses was the loudest the venue has ever been, the bouncer told us, and he’s been there since 1998.
To the kid in the front row who screamed every word and gave me a wilted rose: we kept it. It’s now living in a jar of vodka. We will write a song about you.
We donated an unreleased version of Salt Bride to the Sub Rosa flood relief comp. Every cent goes to families in the Var. Grab it on Bandcamp, name your price, minimum €3.
If you can’t spare €3 right now, send the link to someone who can. That helps too.
